The mAAN*Y Singapore 2010 Design Workshop, aims to generate sensitive and sustainable solutions for the city’s built environment by bringing student participants through a process of understanding the community’s real needs, seeking multi-disciplinary approaches and brainstorming creative solutions guided by sustainable principles.

This 11-day interactive design workshop, (held from *22nd July to 1st August 2010 in Singapore) will produce design visions for selected sites in Singapore, led by local and international studio unit masters who are selected practicing architects/planners from various parts of the world. These are designers who are actively impacting communities and environments positively via their design endeavors. This workshop is opened to recommended students (at least completed 3 years of Architecture studies), graduates and interested young working professionals from the international architecture and urban planning community.

The results of this workshop will be documented and published in an effort to create a regional think-tank resource of such community-based initiatives related to the built environment.

We would like to invite recommendations of students and young architects/planners/designers to participate in the workshop. Please send in your recommendations by 31 May 2010 to (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

*Please note that the dates for the workshop have been changed from 19 - 29 July to 22 July - 1 August 2010.
